Riley Burke is a multi-disciplinary artist with a penchant for making people laugh or cry while relating to boomers more so than fellow millennials. Hailing from South Florida with a decade living in New York City (albeit with brief hiatuses to the artistic hubs of Asheville, NC, and St. Louis, MO), Burke cherishes the opportunity to tell stories. She processes, shares, and reclaims parts of her story (and therefore herself) as an artistic practice that transmutes pain into work that builds community, cultivates understanding, and fosters hope.

In her work, Burke bridges light and dark spaces while incorporating her contrarian inclinations, innovative and fearless impulses, and background in a structured improv, surrender-to-flow-based approach.

Burke is a composer for media, concert, and theater as well as a songwriter, comedian, orchestrator, and producer. Her work, individually and collaboratively, confronts bound and untethered states, female power, and liberation. She is known to layer her voice and violin to create sonic collages.
