PSYCHIC WOUND is the solo electronic project of New York City's Joshua Chiet. His debut album on Light Sleeper Records, Multitudes, serves as the soundtrack to playwright Timothy Williams’s new one-man show of the same name which explores the world of cult indoctrination, narcissism, and the ideology of control.
Recorded live on analog modular synthesizers with minimal post-production, Multitudes has a raw and immediate quality that reflects PSYCHIC WOUND's synesthetic approach to music-making. Drawing from his background in visual art, Chiet creates a dense and textural sonic landscape that balances buzzing, sputtering tones with evocative silences. Overlapping rhythms, howling drones, and simple, haunting melodies create an immersive and hypnotic atmosphere that perfectly complements the play's narrative arc.
This marks the first release from Chiet, who previously played bass for fellow Light Sleeper Records artist Art Girls, as PSYCHIC WOUND.
