Sick! is Los Angeles rapper Earl Sweatshirt’s fourth studio album, released on January 14, 2022 through his independent record label Tan Cressida. The project is a follow-up to Earl’s 2019 EP, FEET OF CLAY, and comes almost four years after his previous full-length LP, Some Rap Songs.

The album was conceived as a reflection of the world’s compromised state of mind during the COVID-19 pandemic, as the artist explained in a press statement:

Before the virus, I had been working on an album I named after a book I used to read with my mother (The People Could Fly). Once the lockdowns hit, people couldn’t fly anymore. A wise man said art imitates life. People were sick. The people were angry and isolated and restless. I leaned into the chaos, ’cause it was apparent that it wasn’t going anywhere. These songs are what happened when I would come up for air.

Sick! was first confirmed by The Alchemist (producer of two of the ten songs in the tracklist) during an interview with Anthony Fantano in September 2021.

The promotional roll-out for the album officially started in November of the same year, with the release of the lead single, “2010:” two more singles, “Tabula Rasa” with underground duo Armand Hammer (in December) and “Titanic” (in January), quickly followed.
