However, what propels Jimmy Eat World to another level is their uncanny knack for appealing to a wide audience by cobbling together the jagged guitar sincerity of bands like Fugazi and Jawbox with the hooks bands like Green Day and Blink-182 rode to multi-platinum success, tempering these creations with touches of power-pop and metal.
The band immediately captures attention on JIMMY EAT WORLD's opening track (and one-time title track), "Bleed American," a scathing yet engaging fiery anthem made for radio (not to mention for uncontrollable singing along); better singles are few and far between. Drama is hardwired within MCR, due in part to the leadership of Gerard Way, a lead singer who writes comic books on the side and can't help but have his other calling seep into the fabric of Danger Days, constructing an absurd sci-fi narrative about a gang of anti-corporate renegades in the far-distant year of 2019. By setting their dystopia just nine years in the future, MCR run the risk of creating the rock & roll answer to Richard Kelly's Southland Tales, but the near-nonsensical narrative is incidental on Danger Days. What matters is the sheer rush of sound: the riffs and hooks bash against each other, pushing the record forward at a breakneck speed; the band will suddenly swing from clenched punk rhythms to the strobe-light disco of "Planetary (GO!)." Certain references pop up, either in Way's lyrics or in the buzzsaw guitars of Ray Toro and Frank Iero, these studied cultural allusions replacing teen angst as MCR's touchstone, a shift that has the ultimate effect of lightening the band's music considerably. There's no emo bloodletting, no expressionist confrontations with death, just exaggerated adolescent anthems and calls to rebellion, just enough drama so this could be called cathartic by a certain generation, but for most listeners it's crystallized fun, the purest rush My Chemical Romance has ever delivered. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Tracks:

1 Look Alive, Sunshine

2 Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)

3 Bulletproof Heart

4 Sing

5 Planetary (Go!)

6 The Only Hope for Me Is You

7 Jet-Star and the Kobra Kid/Traffic Report

8 Party Poison

9 Save Yourself, I'll Hold Them Back

10 S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W

11 Summertime

12 Destroya

13 The Kids from Yesterday

14 Goodnite, Dr. Death

15 Vampire Money

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0754/8859/2179/files/my-chemical-romance-danger-days-true-lives-of-the-fabulous-killjoys-explicit-content_Oj7Tr.jpg?v=1746910558
good-charlotte-good-charlotte-vinyl
Good Charlotte - Good Charlotte - Vinyl

Double vinyl LP pressing. By trading the sappy for heartfelt and the melodramic for truthful, Mom Jeans have created a brand of emo that's self-aware but not self-indulgent. 2018's Puppy Love follows up 2016's Best Buds and offers up more of that sweet noise that fans of bands like Modern Baseball and The Front Bottoms, will love. Recorded by Ryan Ellery. Mastered by James Trevascus.

Tracks:

1. Facing exhaustion, the band scrapped early demos to prioritize mental health, ultimately crafting a raw document of self-reflection that vocalist Zayna Youssef calls "the hardest thing I've had to do."

Marking a significant evolution in their creative dynamic, the new album is the first written fully as a collaborative unit by Youssef, guitarists Jayce Williams and Sean McCall, bassist Ryan Cullen, & drummer Chris Kearney. Recorded at Gradwell House with longtime producers Matt Weber & Dave Downham, the record aims to bottle the kinetic energy of their live shows-performances that have earned them endorsements from stars like Hayley Williams and Doja Cat. The resulting sound is an elevated mix of math-rock intricacy, urgent punk, and heartfelt emo. The album's narrative explores the concept of a lingering "glow" after a fire, symbolizing hope after hitting rock bottom. This theme is introduced by the single "No Control," a soaring track that tackles self-indulgence and boundaries, tracks like "Shameless" and "Make Me Sick" explore transitional chaos and the breaking of negative habits, offering a candid look at a band that has burned down it's old ways to rebuild something stronger. To support the release, Sweet Pill has announced a massive 2026 U.S. and Canada headline tour. The run begins on release day in Pittsburgh, PA, and includes major stops at Brooklyn's Warsaw and Los Angeles' El Rey Theatre, before wrapping up with a hometown finale in Philadelphia on April 18th. As a woman of color in the alternative scene, Youssef hopes the album and tour will foster a judgment-free community for fans. Still, There's a Glow stands as proof of the band's survival and growth, inviting listeners to find their own light at the end of the tunnel. For Fans Of: Hot Milligan, Movements, The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, Joyce Manor Vinyl Color: Blue Eco Mix

Tracks:

1 Sunblind

2 Shameless

3 No Control

4 Glow

5 Slow Burn

6 Smoke Screen

7 What the Devil Is Selling

8 Makes Me Sick

9 Rotten

10 Jinx

11 Tough Love

12 Holding on

13 Letting Go

When the idea of recording a 4th album came up (for the second time), American Football knew things were going to get darker. It's a gorgeous and elaborate album, one that takes it's time to show you it's beauty, while hinting at the darker parts that are trying their best to stay hidden.

Tracks:

1 Man Overboard

2 No Feeling

3 Blood on My Blood

4 Bad Moons

5 The One with the Piano

6 Patron Saint of Pale

7 Wake Her Up

8 Desdemona

9 Lullabye

10 No Soul to Save

Limited multi-colored splatter vinyl LP pressing.

Tracks:

1 Impenetrable Cerebral Fortress

2 G M M (Gulch Machine Music)

3 Cries of Help

4 Lie, Deny, Sanctify

5 Force Fed

6 Indestrucible Aim

7 Eater of Tears

8 Shattered Paradise

To most fans of hardcore, JUDGE is a band that needs no introduction. The band who took the ideals and positive goals of YOUTH OF TODAY and infused them with beefy guitar licks, introspective lyrics and a hefty influx of New York style. The Bringin' It Down full-length took JUDGE to an entirely different level. Funneling the energy of the New York Crew through the crunching guitars that had never been applied to their powerful brand of hardcore was an enormous shift. A US tour cemented JUDGE as THE preeminent hardcore band, and the musical impact of the Bringin' It Down full-length became widespread. The meshing of metal-edged guitar riffs and fast, energetic hardcore without treading too far into the realm of crossover raised the bar for every band that dared to pick up their guitars. It was official - JUDGE was a full-fledged outbreak. As abruptly as JUDGE had burst onto the scene, in 1991 they played a now infamous "final" show in Florida. Then in May of 2013, JUDGE reunited in their hometown of NYC as headliners for the Black 'n' Blue Bowl. Since then they have been performing internationally and were recently the subject of a four-part series on Vice's music blog, Noisey. This album is for those who are no longer with us. It is about coping with the loss of friends, family, and mentors, while building a new community in their wake. "When I meet someone that's good I want to die with them, dead friends I still want to say good bye to them." In the midst of losing friends we strive to create a stronger community, dedicated to fight, survive, and thrive in their memory and spirit. A lot of people have said to us this is a perfect time to make a Punk record. We are disgusted by this prompt. This album and our music does not belong to a political party. No authority, political movement, or side may claim the function of our music in this society. This album is personal. It is about and for the disenfranchised youth of this city, of this country, and of this earth. It is for our community and anyone who may find shelter within it.

Boysetsfire may not have been the first political band I ever heard, but the Delaware outfit were undeniably one of the most accessible. They weren't tucked away in academic theory or shouting from unreachable pulpits_they were on the road, playing local VFW halls and grimy all-ages venues that you could actually afford to be in. They brought the revolution to the people, $10 at the door_ and After the Eulogy was my introduction. Yes, they were political. Absolutely. And I happily credit Nat Gray's lyrics specifically for helping me break from the hollow conservatism and half-hearted Catholic guilt that formed the background noise of my upbringing. After the Eulogy wasn't just music, it was an ideological rupture. Without this album or BSF, I might very well have ended up as one of those incomprehensibly frightened and angry uncles on Facebook, raving about microchips in vaccines and confusing memes for peer-reviewed sources. My father would probably say Boysetsfire turned me into pinko commie scum; I'd argue they just helped me become a functional adult with empathy and a working moral compass. But hey, that's a conversation for the Thanksgiving table, not here. After the Eulogy is a near-perfect record. If someone asked me what made Boysetsfire great, this is the album I'd hand them without hesitation. It's where their strengths matured beyond In Chrysalis (see what I did there?). This is the record to showcase the urgency, the catharsis, the blend of fury and melody, and above all, their unflinching sincerity. More than just a political document, Eulogy was a portal into screamo, into post-hardcore, and into the radical notion that vulnerability wasn't weakness but strength, in other words After The Eulogy was a portal beyond the toxic masculinity that ate at my mind like in early adolescence and helped me see beyond the small town walls built for me. Gray, never afraid to wear their heart as openly as their politics, offered a model of emotional honesty that was revolutionary. Their lyrics didn't just rage against the machine; they dared to whisper about the damage it had done to our conscience. This album didn't just challenge political systems; it challenged masculinity, repression, and the toxic detachment that was seeping into hardcore in the early 2000s. At a time when "emo" was a punchline and hardcore scenes were being overrun by meathead crews looking for a fight, Boysetsfire stood apart. Gray and the band didn't care about the scene's rules or the genre's boundaries, instead they played with passion, principle, and purpose. You can hear the echoes of After the Eulogy in countless bands that followed; everyone from Rise Against to La Dispute to Touché Amoré has tipped their hat to Boysetsfire's fearless melding of the personal and political. The record laid down a blueprint for how to scream with both conviction and compassion, and that DNA is still alive in today's post-hardcore and emotional hardcore scenes. It wasn't just ahead of it's time, it helped shape what came next. You can hear Gray continue to help redraw that blueprint for this latest f***ed-up timeline along with the rest of their new firebrand super-group The Iron Roses who are quietly setting the world ablaze. The legacy of After the Eulogy is indelible. Every punk who's ever dared to be sincere, every hardcore kid who's chosen empathy over bravado, owes something to this record. It proved you could scream about revolution and still sing about heartbreak, that doing one without the other might be impossible, and that doing both might just be the most radical act of all.

Tracks:

1 After the Eulogy

2 Rookie

3 Pariah Under Glass

4 When Rhetoric Dies

5 Still Waiting for the Punchline

6 Abominations of Those Virtuous

7 Our Time Honored Tradition of Cannibalism

8 (Compassion) As Skull Fragments on the Wall

9 My Life in the Knife Trade

10 Across Five Years

11 Twelve Step Hammer Program

12 Force Majeure
